Heuchera Black Forest Cake

Black Heuchera are our biggest sellers. They contrast dramatically against lighter and brighter shade foliage, are generally hardier to sun although they are still best in dappled shade, and this one has the most intense cerise flowers shown off against glossy black foliage.

This one has the wow factor in both foliage and flower. Heuchera like protection from the afternoon sun and like light humus rich soil that’s free draining and not subject to waterlogging. When you plant them be careful not to bury the crown (ie at the base of the leaves needs to sit above the soil level). Heuchera do surprisingly well in pots too as long as they are in a shaded spot probably because pots do provide great drainage. But if container growing these just be sure to keep them watered in summertime.
