Inca Alstroemeria are renowned for their compact non invasive habit and prolific flowering performance. Inca Amsterdam is a low growing variety smothered in clear red blooms.
Inca Alstroemeria will flower for a prolonged period from early spring right through to late Autumn. In milder climates flowering is close to nine months of the year. Incas may go dormant in extreme heat and dry conditions, or extreme cold. This is a survival mechanism for the plant, and the reason these hardy perennials will grow in a wide range of climates.
Inca Alstroemeria make excellent container plants and are also perfect for indoor use in a vase where they last well as cut flowers.
Removal of spent flowers by tugging the stem from the base of the plant will act to stimulate further flowering.
