‘Black Scallop’ is an attractive jet black ground cover, with very dark, uniform, glossy scalloped foliage. The leaves are larger than ‘Mahogany’ and darker in colour than ‘Catlin’s Giant’. The foliage colour is intensified in full sun.
This stunning black ground cover is topped in late spring / early summer with intense deep blue flowers held on small flower spikes. ‘Black Scallop’ is an excellent container and accent plant for the modern landscape. Ajuga Black Scallop prefers full sun to part shade in rich soil, which does not dry out. Easy care. Hardy. 0.15 x 0.6m.
